Sidewalk Project Lunch & Learn
Sidewalk Project Lunch & Learn
Wednesday, November 19, 2025 (12:00 PM - 1:30 PM) (PST)
Description
Are you an employer or organization in the Mid-Valley interested in strengthening community partnerships while helping grow the region’s future workforce? Join SEDCOR and Willamette Workforce Partnership for a virtual Lunch & Learn highlighting The Sidewalk Project - a collaborative initiative in Carlton that’s reshaping how youth, employers, and local governments work together.
The Sidewalk Project connects teens and young adults with hands-on training opportunities in the construction trades while addressing a real infrastructure need in the community: repairing and rebuilding sidewalks. Through partnerships between local schools, city officials, contractors, and workforce development organizations, youth gain valuable skills, professional mentorship, and exposure to career pathways - all while contributing to a project that benefits their own neighborhoods.
During this session, you’ll learn about:
- The vision behind the Sidewalk Project and its measurable community impact
- The vital partners who helped make it happen
- Funding mechanisms and resources that supported its success
- Detailed implementation plans - and how similar workforce development models could be replicated in other Mid-Valley communities
Whether you’re an employer looking to connect with emerging talent, a city leader exploring workforce solutions, or a community partner interested in collaborative impact, this conversation will offer actionable ideas and inspiration.
